Bloom dog coat refresher spray

A fluffy white dog lying on a wooden surface next to a clear spray bottle filled with liquid.

Between baths, pets can develop odors that a simple refresher spray can address quickly and safely. This spray uses distilled water as the base with a small amount of witch hazel for its deodorizing properties and pet-safe essential oils that neutralize odor and leave the coat smelling fresh. It is gentle enough for regular use and dries quickly without leaving residue.

Ingredients

  • 3 oz distilled water
  • 1 oz witch hazel (alcohol-free)
  • 3 drops lavender essential oil
  • 2 drops chamomile essential oil

Directions

  1. Combine distilled water and witch hazel in a clean 4 oz glass spray bottle.
  2. Add essential oils.
  3. Cap and shake well.
  4. Mist lightly onto pet’s coat from 8 to 10 inches away.
  5. Avoid face, eyes, ears, and any open wounds.
  6. Brush through coat after misting for even distribution.

Tips and variations

  • Always use alcohol-free witch hazel for pets
  • For dogs only, cedarwood essential oil can be added for extra odor control
  • Never use citrus, tea tree, eucalyptus, or clove oils on pets
  • Test on a small area first if your pet has sensitive skin
  • For cats, use only distilled water and witch hazel with no essential oils
