Ingredients
For the Pesto
- 1 bunch Swiss chard (stems removed, leaves roughly chopped)
- 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
- 1/3 cup toasted pecans
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Extra pecans for garnish
For the Pasta
- 12 ounces pasta (your choice of type)
- Salt for pasta water

- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Blanch the Swiss chard leaves for about 1 minute, then transfer to an ice bath to cool.
- Drain and squeeze out excess water from the chard.

- Cook the Pasta
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.

- In a large bowl, toss the cooked pasta with the Swiss chard pecan pesto, adding reserved pasta water as needed to reach the desired consistency.
