Hearty crispy rice paper dumplings

These Crispy Rice Paper Dumplings are a delightful fusion of texture and flavor. Filled with sautéed ground pork or tofu, garlic, green onions, soy sauce, and cabbage, they offer a savory bite wrapped in crunchy, golden-fried rice paper. Ingredients

  • 6 rice paper wrappers
  • ½ lb. ground pork (or tofu for a vegetarian option)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp chili sauce (optional, for heat)

Directions

  1. Sauté the filling: ground pork/tofu with garlic, soy sauce, and cabbage.
  2. Wet a rice paper wrapper until soft and add a spoonful of filling in the center.
  3. Fold the sides of the wrapper to make a square shape.

Frying Directions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and fry the dumplings until crispy and golden on both sides.
  2. Serve with chili dipping sauce.

Air Fryer Directions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Prepare the dumplings by filling and folding the rice paper wrappers as directed.
  3. Lightly spray both sides of the dumplings with oil to ensure crispness.
  4. Place the dumplings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding to ensure even cooking.
  5. Air fry for 7-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  6. Remove and let cool slightly before serving with your dipping sauce.

Soy-Ginger Dipping Sauce

Ingredients
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tsp honey or sugar
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp chopped green onions (for garnish)
  • ½ tsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
Directions
  1. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, honey, and garlic.
  2. Stir well until the honey or sugar dissolves.
  3. Add chili flakes if you prefer a spicy kick.
  4. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Serve dipping sauce alongside your dumplings.
