Ingredients
- 1-pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup dry white wine (use less salt if using cooking wine)
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- Cooked pasta or crusty bread, for serving
Directions
- Prepare the Shrimp
- Season the shrimp with salt and pepper.
- Cook the Shrimp
- In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter with 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the shrimp and cook until pink, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the Sauce
- In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and olive oil.
- Add the garlic and red pepper flakes, and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Pour in the white wine, add Italian seasoning if using and lemon juice, and bring to a simmer. Cook until the sauce reduces by little less than half, about 2 minutes.
- Combine and Serve
- Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
- Stir in the parsley and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Serve immediately over cooked pasta and or with crusty bread.
