This botanical perfume oil combines lavender, geranium, frankincense, and cedarwood in a smooth jojoba base. The result is a soft floral fragrance with herbal, resinous, and woody notes. Unlike an alcohol perfume, an oil perfume stays close to the skin and is applied by the drop. Letting the blend rest for several days allows the individual aromas to combine and soften. Apply it sparingly to the wrists, neck, or other pulse points, avoiding the eyes and sensitive areas.

Ingredients

• 7 tablespoons jojoba oil
• 1 teaspoon fractionated coconut oil
• 18 drops lavender essential oil
• 10 drops geranium essential oil
• 6 drops frankincense essential oil
• 4 drops cedarwood essential oil

Directions

1. Sanitize and completely dry a 4 ounce amber glass dropper bottle.
2. Add the jojoba and fractionated coconut oils.
3. Add the lavender, geranium, frankincense, and cedarwood essential oils.
4. Close the bottle and roll it gently to combine.
5. Label it with every ingredient and the preparation date.
6. Place the bottle in a dark cabinet for 48 hours.
7. Patch test a small amount on the inner arm.
8. Apply one drop to each wrist or another pulse point.
9. Store away from heat and sunlight and use within one year.

Tips and variations

• Natural essential oils can still cause irritation, so careful dilution and patch testing are important even when every ingredient is plant derived.
• Omit geranium for a more herbal and woody fragrance.
• Replace cedarwood with 2 drops of patchouli essential oil.
• Add 2 drops of sweet orange essential oil, but avoid sun exposure on the application area unless the oil is verified as nonphototoxic.
• Add more jojoba if the fragrance feels too strong.
• Do not apply to the lips, eyelids, or broken skin.
• Avoid sharing perfume directly from a dropper that has touched the skin.
