Ingredients
For the Bread
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups buttermilk (or milk with a teaspoon of vinegar)

- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Directions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two loaf pans.
- Make the Cinnamon Sugar Mixture: In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon for the cinnamon sugar mixture. Set aside.
- Prepare the Batter
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Combine Dry Ingredients
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Alternate Mixing
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients.
- Layering in Loaf Pans
- Divide half of the batter between the two prepared loaf pans.
- Sprinkle about half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter in each pan.
- Add the remaining batter on top, and then sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Swirl the Mixture
- Use a knife to swirl the cinnamon sugar mixture into the batter, creating a marbled effect.
- Bake
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool
- Allow the bread to cool in the pans for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
