This Mud Pie is a decadent dessert that combines a buttery chocolate cookie crust, creamy chocolate pudding filling, and fluffy whipped topping, creating layers of rich texture and flavor. Ingredients

  • For the crust

    • 1/4 cup melted butter

    • 1 package (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
    • 2 cups cold milk
    • 1 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
    • Optional: 1/2 cup crushed chocolate cookies or chocolate chips
  • For the topping
    • 1 cup whipped topping
    • Crushed cookies, chocolate syrup, or sprinkles for garnish

Directions

  1. Make the crust
    • In a bowl, mix the chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter until combined.
    • Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie pan. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to set.
  2. Prepare the filling
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and cold milk until thickened (about 2 minutes).
    • Gently fold in 1 cup of whipped topping to make the filling light and fluffy.
    • If desired, fold in crushed cookies or chocolate chips for added texture.
  3. Assemble the pie
    • Pour the pudding mixture into the chilled crust and spread evenly.
  4. Add the topping
    • Spread the remaining whipped topping over the pudding layer.

  5. Chill and serve
