Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 bell pepper (sliced)
  • 1 small broccoli head (cut into florets)
  • 1 carrot (sliced)
  • 1 cup snow peas or green beans
  • 1 onion (sliced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp ginger (grated)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • Cooked rice (to serve)
  • Sesame seeds and green onions (for garnish)

Directions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil. Set aside.
  2. Cook the Shrimp: Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook until pink, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. Stir-Fry Vegetables: In the same skillet, heat the remaining vegetable oil. Add garlic and ginger, sauté for 30 seconds. Add bell pepper, broccoli, carrot, beans or peas, and onion. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  4. Combine: Return the shrimp to the skillet. Pour in the sauce and toss everything to coat evenly. If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix 1 tsp of cornstarch with 1 tbsp of water and add to the skillet. Stir until the sauce thickens.
  5. Serve: Serve the shrimp stir fry over cooked rice. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
