Ingredients

  • 2 pounds large or jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons butter (use unsalted butter if using cooking wine)
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup dry white wine o cooking wine
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cups cooked pasta or rice

Directions

  1. Prepare the Shrimp
    • Make sure the shrimp are peeled and deveined. You can leave the tails on for presentation or remove them for easier eating.
  2. Season the Shrimp
    • In a bowl, season the shrimp with Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
  3. Sauté Garlic
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Be careful not to let it brown too much.

    • Add the seasoned shrimp, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until they start to turn pink, then flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes on the other side until shrimp are tender.
  5. Finish Cooking
    • Drizzle fresh lemon juice over the shrimp and toss them around in the skillet. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the shrimp are fully cooked through.
  6. Garnish and Serve
    • Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the shrimp for a burst of color and added flavor. Serve the garlic shrimp hot over the pasta drizzling garlic wine mixture over the top, with lemon wedges on the side.
