Convenient, nutritious, and satisfying breakfast for busy mornings.

Overnight steel cut oats are a convenient and nutritious breakfast option. By soaking the oats overnight in milk or water, they become tender and ready to eat by morning without the need for cooking. This method retains their chewy texture and nutty flavor while also saving time. Steel cut oats are high in fiber, which aids digestion and keeps you full longer. They also provide a steady release of energy throughout the morning. Preparing a batch ensures you have a healthy, grab-and-go breakfast. Enjoying overnight oats 3-4 times a week can support a balanced diet and maintain energy levels.
Ingredients
- 4 cups soy or almond milk, or other milk of your choice or water

- pinch of salt
Optional Ingredients
- Dash of cinnamon and/or nutmeg to taste
- Teaspoon of almond flavoring or vanilla if milk is plain to taste
- ~1/2 cup of chopped nuts or fruit, or apple or pear sauce

Serving notes
- Reheat to serve for up to a week
- Refrigerate once cooked
- I put into serving size mason jars and add my toppings either before or after warming
This is one of the family breakfast staples. Super easy to make and it is way healthier than those little sugar filled instant packets. This recipe makes a week’s worth of oatmeal for us. We don’t all eat it every day. About 8 servings.
